Risky Road Food..

On the long and windy roads between cities in Laos are a few “hubs” where you can stop to use the restroom, buy drinks and sometimes hot food. Usually it is safest to only get the noodle soups that are often timed to be ready when the buses arrive. You can be sure that even if it did sit open for a while it is boiling when you get to it.

Occasionally the stir fries look pretty tempting and worth the risk of being toilet-bound for the forseeable future.. When they are, I have two pieces of advice for you; eat your food with LOTS of chili and LOTS of mint. These two ingredients are known to help combat intestinal parasites and bacteria. They are also know to be quite tasty. I happen to have an iron stomach but it could be attributed to my love for both spicy and mint.
