Yum, Fried Sticky Rice Cakes!

This is a great way to make a yummy crispy rice snack. I won't call it rice crispy treats because those take an extra ingredient (a sweet one at that!)
First step is to make some sticky rice...

Once they've cooled, shape them into a little patty. Mine were around 2 inches in diameter.

After making them into patties put them onto some foil (or whatever really) and leave them out in the sun to dry. Noy was very firm that they need to be completely dried before moving on to frying.

After drying get some water  oil to frying temperature (~350 or when a plain wooden chopstick produces bubbles steadily when placed in the oil)
When the cakes are golden brown as in the photo they are ready. These are great in a Pho or whatever soup. I also had them drizzled with chocolate... Yum!

  1. Above about cooking..."get some oil to frying temp" not "water", right?
