Custard Apple

I’ve never heard of custard apple before much less seen one…

The outside is all knobbly and ugly. You can take the knobs off one at a time or just sort of split it and find your way through it.

I chose to split it.

While the inside is somewhat grainy with a custard-like taste. Must be why it’s called custard apple, huh? The seeds are pretty big and hard. Should be avoided.

You can even see the seeds here while I’m eating some of the fruit. Dark black orbs.

In this photo I had just woken up and the custard apple was to be my breakfast. I count myself as lucky that I waited long enough for a pic…
